If your store sells in multiple markets, this feature is built just for you. our Market-Based Quotation feature helps you create and manage quotes in your customers’ local currencies—making the buying process smoother and more personalized.
With this feature: #
- Customers will see and request quotes in their own currency.
- You’ll receive and manage these quotes in the same currency.
- Invoices sent to customers will show prices in their local currency.
- Payments will be received in your store’s base currency as usual.
The best part? There’s nothing extra you need to set up. As long as your store has multiple markets enabled and you’re on our Premium plan, the feature works automatically.
How It Works – Step by Step #
- Customer Requests a Quote
- Customers from different markets (e.g., UK, Canada, Australia) see prices in their local currency.
- When they request a quote, the request is stored in that currency.
- View & Manage Quotes
- In your Quote Listing page, you can see quotes from various markets and currencies.
- Edit a quote if needed—change the price or even switch the currency (only to currencies enabled in your Shopify Markets settings).
- Send or Convert Quotes
- When resending an email, exporting as PDF, or converting a quote into a draft order, the selected currency will be used.
- If you send an invoice, the customer will see the price in their local currency, while you still receive payment in your store’s base currency.

Why Multi-Market Quotes Matter #
If you’re selling to customers in different countries, showing them prices in their own currency builds trust. It feels familiar, it’s easier to understand, and it eliminates the hassle of currency conversion.
Without this feature, you’d have to manually adjust every quote for each market—a time-consuming process prone to errors. Multi-Market Support takes care of it automatically, keeping your quotes, invoices, and payments aligned with your customers’ expectations, while ensuring your accounting stays accurate in your main store currency.
Example: US Store Selling to the UK #
Let’s say your store is based in the US and uses USD. A customer from the UK requests a quote. With Multi-Market Support:
- They see the quote in GBP
- You manage the quote in GBP
- The invoice is sent in GBP
- The payment arrives in your account in USD — no manual currency conversions needed
✅ Pro Tip: Ensure your Shopify Markets settings include the currencies you want to offer before editing or sending quotes in those currencies.
